Serene grew up in a small California town where she practiced gymnastics and discovered her love for movement. The power and grace that the sport provided gave her a firm foundation in mind-body awareness. After practicing and competing for nearly ten years, she began to experience pain along with hyper-mobility. At this time, she found Pilates, and it was her saving grace to add more body control and provide the strength and conditioning she needed.
After practicing Pilates for eight years, she took her love for it to the next level and became a certified Pilates instructor through BASI (Body Arts and Science International). She discovered that she loved teaching movement as much as she loved moving her own body.
With over 20 years of experience, Serene has built a thriving business, U Strive Pilates, serving Palo Alto, Los Gatos, Redwood City, and Atherton, CA. Her journey of self-growth and continuing education is reflected in her extensive list of certifications. She is certified in Pre-Script L1, Functional Range Conditioning (FRCms), Kinstretch FRC, Health and Wellness Coach, Certified Personal Training, TRX, Pilates for Injuries & Pathologies (BASI), and BASI Pilates Mentor Program. This impressive array of qualifications is a testament to her commitment to providing the best possible service to her clients.
Serene teaches Reformer Pilates and Mat Pilates and Personal Training and mobility sessions for clients in the Bay Area, CA. She customizes each program for the individual client.
